The Philadelphia Trail Master Plan is available for public review until May 31st. The plan is the first of its kind in Philadelphia and was recommended in Philadelphia2035 to coordinate the planning and construction of trail systems in Philadelphia going forward. It inventories existing trails and details and prioritizes 75 proposed trails citywide. The implementation of the plan includes forming a Philadelphia Trail Committee to coordinate proposed trails citywide. The plan will be adopted by the Planning Commission this summer. Public comments on the draft plan are due at the end of May and can be emailed to Jeannette Brugger at jeannette.brugger@phila.gov.

The founders of the Reading Viaduct Project will provide a guided tour and discuss the developing vision for Philadelphia’s own high line.

Join DVRPC and municipal leaders at a half-day forum on the intricacies of municipal shared services. In many cases, sharing services allows municipalities to decrease both the cost and the complexity of the services they provide to their constituents while providing a higher level of service overall. In the DVRPC region, there are many examples of service sharing; it has been embraced by members of both political parties as a fiscally responsible method of service delivery. This forum will address legal issues related to sharing services and present some of the latest research on best practices and performance measurement in service sharing. Local leaders who have implemented service sharing in their communities will share their stories.

Curious about an email that you just got?
Are you here because you just got an email with the subject line, “Your New User Account Information on APA – PA Southeast Section Blog”?
Sorry about that. Wasn’t meant to happen. As we mentioned yesterday, the site is brand-new, and we’re still working the kinks out. You don’t have to worry about that email–it just means that we have your APA membership info on file. You can delete the email, no problem.
Again, our apologies. New websites can be a little rocky, but we promise this one will be worth it.
