Join your fellow planners for a fun happy hour at Barra Rossa on Tuesday, April 4, 5:30-7:30 pm, sponsored by LRK Philadelphia! You can catch up with colleagues and meet new people as we play Heads Up! Urbanist.
HEADS UP! URBANIST – Join us to play LRK’s version of the latest game sensation – HEADS UP!, which is based on the “old-time” game – Twenty Questions. You will get three HEADS UP! cards on which there is a person, place or thing with importance to the urbanism and the planning profession. In order to win drink tickets, you will pair up and play the game. And… we won’t have easy cards like Ed Bacon or Rittenhouse Square! Come have fun with us on April 4th at Barra Rossa – 10th and Walnut.

The program has two concentration tracks in Sustainable Community Planning and Transportation Planning. Both are areas of expertise that are in wide demand in the greater Philadelphia region as well as across the country and globe. Accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board since 2012.
At the Meet and Greet with MS CTRP alumni, you’ll have a chance to learn about the various career paths alumni have taken from traditional government planning to community-based programming and policy development with nonprofit organizations, from government innovation to entrepreneurial startups, and more.
Become an Instructor on Zoning Practice
PMPEI is Looking for People Who Want to Teach Zoning Classes. A “Train-the-Trainer” class is scheduled for new instructors who want to teach the PMPEI
Course in Zoning. Train-the-Trainer prepares instructors to teach courses by equipping them with an in-depth knowledge of course content to ensure it will be taught consistently throughout the Commonwealth. Principles of adult education, program procedures, and presentation delivery are also part of the training.
Citizen and professional planners and allied professionals with a minimum of five years’ experience in planning and zoning in PA are eligible to become PMPEI Certified Instructors. If you are committed to planning education and would like to become a Certified Instructor the deadline for applying for The Course in Zoning training is May 5, 2017.

DVRPC’s roundtable series highlights challenges older suburbs and downtowns are facing. The Strategies for Older Suburbs Roundtable Series provides a means for networking and exchanging ideas with similar organizations facing the same concerns. Join us for a workshop with David Milder, DANTH, Inc., who is nationally recognized for his expertise on the new normal for downtowns, the deliberate consumer, multichannel retailing and niche revitalization strategies. The workshop will feature presentations, a question and answer session as well as one-on-one discussions. This event is approved for 2.5 AICP CM credits.

Feb. 23: PennDOT Connects
Have you heard of PennDOT’s newest initiative, PennDOT Connects? Secretary Richards, PennDOT, and planning agencies are working to make transportation planning a more collaborative process that supports community goals. The PennDOT Connects initiative reaches into community and transportation planning processes to initiate early dialogue and partnered decisionmaking about the kinds of transportation projects that will help a community achieve its vision. Learn the various ways PennDOT is supporting this initiative internally and in its outreach to local communities. Learn how communities can better articulate what they desire in transportation investments and design, including placemaking and the role of transportation facilities as public spaces.
