PlanSmart NJ, a non-profit planning and public policy organization in downtown Trenton, has an opening for a part-time Project Planner/GIS Specialist. PlanSmart NJ undertakes research, advocacy, public education and technical services. PlanSmart NJ explores and develops cutting edge planning concepts and brings a unique perspective to the field of land use planning. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys innovative thinking as much as detailed analysis. The National Transit Institute (NTI) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is looking to expand its cadre of individuals serving as part time, occasional adjunct instructors for the courses that we offer.
Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
The Smart Growth intern will assist in various stages of fieldwork, research, quantitative analysis, and outreach for several projects in the Office of Smart Growth. For the Aging Infrastructure and Rightsizing Analysis study, the intern will help with a literature review, data analysis, and researching best practices in other communities. For the Gloucester County Master Plan, the intern will be involved in ordinance and local plan review, field work, and public meeting preparation. For Stations with the Highest TOD Potential Study, the intern will compile data on all rail stations in the region from sources such as U.S. Census data, DVRPC land use files, Transit Score, Smart Growth Project Database, SEPTA list of station and service improvements, and zoning ordinances, as well as new sources. Other duties may also be assigned to meet project needs.
