Rural communities are facing a host of challenges, including loss of population; economic dislocation and traditional industries shed jobs; and loss of young people and an educated workforce. The recreation economy is one path towards revitalizing rural communities. The workshop will highlight cases, such as building and protecting trails in rural areas in Pennsylvania.
