The 2025-26 Future City Competition is underway and this is your opportunity to mentor middle schoolers getting their first experience in city planning! This year’s theme is “Farm to Table Challenge” – students have to design a city that eliminates food waste from farm to table and keeps its citizens healthy and safe.
Each year APAPASE formally sponsors the competition, and we are encouraging our membership to volunteer. There are 56 schools registered (10 more than last year!) representing over 1,000 middle school students. No matter where you live – city or suburb – there is a team near you.
Students meet regularly throughout the autumn to plan their city, with Competition Day taking place on Saturday, January 24, 2026 in Radnor. Volunteers are needed to mentor teams throughout the planning stage, along with various roles the day of the event such as judging submissions.
