On September 13th, PlanPhilly kicks it some of the folks who have been working on transforming urban spaces in Philadelphia for decades.
Before pop-ups were all the rage, how did these pioneers reimagine Philadelphia’s vacant and underutilized spaces? What techniques and partnerships did they pursue to make temporary and semi-permanent interventions to public space?
WHYY and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society co-host this panel on creative approaches to transform underutilized spaces into gathering places. PlanPhilly’s community engagement editor Diana Lu will moderate this discussion among local stakeholders executing successful techniques of design and engagement across the city.
